Academic Scholarship & Program of Studies
Exams are done in writing, over the course of 3 hours, without notes (except for the Bible). They take pace in an approved exam center, which is to be arranged and agreed upon ahead of time, nearby the students current location.
Courses taken towards certificate- or short-formation programs are assesed in the same manner as courses undertaken in the Bachelors-level degree programs. A student must complete a 5-page final paper for each course. The expected time to complete a certificate or formation program is 12 months, however, the exact rate of progress is flexible and to be determined by the student. All students will be assisted by a tutor, who will help guide them in their studies.
Each year of study towards the Bachelors or the Masters must be successfully completed through a set of student evaluations. Each bachelors-level course is assesed by a 5-page final paper. Masters level students must complete a 10-15 page final paper for each course, plus a bibliography. In addition, at the end of each semester of completed coursework, a student must sit for a 3-hour written test, to be taken at a testing center not far from their current place of residence.
The defense of a Master’s thesis must take place before a board, in person, as determined by the Director of Studies office. Three professors will comprise the jury board. The student, after having been presented by their thesis Director, will respond to questions for 30 minutes, so as to expound further on their research. After this 30-minute question period, the jury will retire to deliberate amongst themselves. The final grade and any awards or honors will be revealed at the end of the defense.
Tutorial services
Students can take advantages of personalised tutorials. Thsi does not replace exchanges with the professor regarding course material. Rather, tutorial services entail having access to a teaching assitant who will accompany the student throughout the course of the year. The student is responsible for regularly sharing updates with his or her tutor, and in turn, the tutor will help pace the student as they complete writing assignments and final papers, so as to complete their particular program of studies without unnecessary delays.
Libraries
Domuni students have access to libraries and study centers usually reserved to Dominicans. A number of these are active on the internet, and their catalgoue of works are available online.
In particular, this is the case with the library of Saulchoir, the library of the convent of Saint-Jacques in Paris, the library of the convent of Toulouse, the convent of Brussels, even the library of IDEO in Cairo…
Seminars
The pedagogy of Domuni does not only concern itself with magisterial-style courses. Some interactive seminars are regularly offered. These courses, usually offered to Masters-level students, are research seminars where the students study together. That is to say, these seminar courses follow set periods of study and all the seminar participants study at this same, synchronized pace, so as to permit a real dialogue between the professor and students. The seminars can be an impetus for publishing academic works, in the numbered journal « Revue de DOMUNI », for example.

Summer Study Programs
Domuni has previously organized ‘ « Summer Univerisites », in Angers, Paris, and Rhyus in Brittany. Organized around a central theme, a dozen or so professors lead a short week of study and encounter.
International Colloquia and Conferences
The development of Domuni’s multilingual capacity gives us the impetus to host international colloquia and confereces in places of both symbolic and historical interest. All future developments will be announced on the Domuni website.
Study Days
Whenever there are a number of students in a given place or region, Domuni can help organize study groups for help these students, so that they can gather in person from time-to-time.
Where to Study ?
Domuni is an online, distance university that permits study at home.
· The university places an online library and over 500 online documents at the disposition of its students.
· The students can interact among themselves, but also with professors, thanks to the online campus : Do-Moodle
· Domuni’s students also have access to the library resources of the Dominican Order, the majority of which place their catalogues online.
