The Online Campus : Do-Moodle
Domuni is a university that offers online, distance-learning. As an online center for learning, it is not any less active or dynamic, thanks to its online campus for students and teachers : Do-Moodle.
What is Do-Moodle ?
Moodle is a popular, open-source, learning management system. Moodle grants students access to written course materials and the pedagogical tools that enrich them : quizzes, tests, forums, chatrooms, gradebooks, etc. A student can download course texts as pdf files, or download methodological aids, or interact with professors as well as other students.
How Does Do-Moodle Work ?
Once the online registration is complete, (i.e. a student’s application is accepted, administrative enrollment is carried out, and payment isreceived), students will receive a login ID and password for Do-Moodle. This will give the student unfettered access to the course of studies in which they are enrolled.
Do-Moodle in 4 Clicks :
1) Chose a program of study : either a degree program, or a short certificate or formation program, or courses à la carte.
2) Apply and register
3) Pay online or by check
4) Receive Do-Moodle log-in instructions
It’s that easy !
Once online, a student can :
Download a couse, communicate with the professor or tutor, turn in course assginments, interact with other students from around the world, etc.
In an online course, a student can access the:
· Course Syallbus
· Bibliography
· Approximately 80 pages of text per course,
· separated into about a dozen sections so as to permit downloads that are tailored to a particular students needs. These chapters will guide the student along their path of study, since a section roughly corresponds to an evening’s worth of work.
· Some questions and exercises for « going deeper »
· to help train students for course writing assignments or semester final exams
· Professors’ resumés (or CVs)
· A place to hand in assignments, and to receive them back with grades and notes
Where Can Students and Teachers Interact ?
Course Forum : Permits students to pose questions to the group, and to benefit from the overall exchange between students and the professor
Tutor Forum : Permits students to pose questions to, and receive advice from, their tutor as to make progress along their course of studies
Theo Bar : A place of exchange among all students, so that they can get to know one another, interact, and build connections and community
